Pride and commitment: how we shape Hansa into a truly great place to work

Hansa has been awarded the Great Place to Work® certificate for the third consecutive year by the independent institute Great Place to Work®. Anne Säfström Lanner, Sr.VP and CHRO at Hansa Biopharma, talks about the significance of this achievement and how it guides our constant strive for improvement.

“We are grateful and proud for this achievement, and I was glad to announce the certification to all our colleagues in a plenary meeting”, said Anne. “I really wanted to have the opportunity to thank them properly, not simply for this result, but for their commitment and for the inspiring attitude they show every day, which is what ultimately makes achievements such as this certification possible”.

Anne defined being certified for three consecutive years as a true testament to the commitment and dedication of Hansa people. “We achieved that with a 99% response rate, and that speaks to the seriousness with which everyone at Hansa takes this activity, and to the trust they put in our leadership to make their voices heard and act accordingly”.

“Now it’s on us as leaders to honour that trust and keep improving. Being a great place to work is not a yearly exercise, but an attitude we embed every day in our actions and that guides how we want our organization to evolve and flourish”.

The last three years have been truly transformative for Hansa, as the company has transformed into a commercial-stage biopharmaceutical. Touching on this, Anne pointed out how retaining such a high level of trust is galvanizing and shows just how much the team spirit and pride permeate the way we work and interact.

“I think the results that stood out the most is how the participants signaled the pride in being part of Hansa. The vast majority of employees said that they are proud to work at Hansa, they are proud of what we do for patients and society, and they are proud to tell it to others. Equally important, they feel they can be themselves in our work environment and welcomed for who they are. This is a corner stone of Hansa’s ethic as an employer. We believe that workplace diversity across gender, ethnicity, religion or other belief, disability, sexual orientation, and age is vital for a healthy and productive work environment.”

“Now it’s time for acting on the key improvements our people have highlighted this year. We will analyze the results in detail, define effective actions and share them with the entire organization, so that everyone can contribute, and no one is left out. We are only getting started!”

In 2023, Hansa was selected among the best workplaces in Sweden and received the Great Place to Work® certification for the fourth consecutive year.
